- I have a problem with my WarpEngine 3033... I have earlier used it with a
- 16 Mb simm, but now I tried to replace that with a 32 MB one (72 pin
- 60 ns 32 bit comb made by Siemens). I placed the simm in the 'SIMM 4' socket
- and set the J2 as adviced in the manual, that is, B and C open. When I then
- tried to use my machine, the amount of fast ram available seemed to be
- correct, but in fact the only first half of it was usable. If I e.g. copied
- files to Ram disk, it worked ok up to 16 Mb, but going above that caused
- an immediate system crash or freezing. BTW, I was not able to use
- CyberVision64 at all (immediate crash after trying to acces WB menus etc.),
- and had to boot from a standard WB 3.1 diskette in order to be able to
- do some testing... (maybe CV64 tries to allocate memory starting from the upper
- part of the address space?).
-
- So, what might be the probable cause of this problem and is there anything I
- could try? Is this a Warp problem or is it possible that my SIMM is defective?
- I tried to use this 32 MB simm also together with the earlier 16 MB one,
- testing them in both simm sockets but the result was the same : as soon as
- the second half of the larger simms memory was used a system crash was the
- result. (As a side note, when the 32 MB simm was in the "SIMM 4" and the
- 16 MB one in the "SIMM 2" socket, the memory was _continuous_, at least
- according to 'avail' command... ;-).
-
- I would be most grateful for any help!

- PS. I tried to contact MacroSystems Development via email address mentioned
- in the manual (macrosystem@cryogenic.com), but my message was bounced.
- Does anyone know their current email address?
